Order Versus Chaos

Abstract mixed media painting with large spiral form and hexagonal patterns suggesting natural mathematical structures.

Large-scale mixed media exploration of natural systems revealing hidden structure within apparent disorder.

This work emerges from an ongoing investigation into patterns found throughout nature. At first glance, the composition appears energetic and unpredictable—color fields collide, organic forms expand, and layered textures suggest motion. Yet beneath this apparent chaos lies structure: repeating hexagonal grids echo snowflakes and beehives, while curved forms reference Fibonacci sequences present in shells, plants, and natural growth patterns.

Originally painted across three panels, the piece reflects a shift in understanding. Attempts to portray nature’s disorder gradually revealed profound organization. Storms, swarms, and ecosystems may appear chaotic, yet they operate through elegant mathematical relationships. The painting invites viewers to reconsider uncertainty itself, suggesting that complexity often conceals underlying harmony.
